30mm 1.4 sigma test

Here is a quick lens test I made at the camera store for the Sigma 30mm 1.4. It looks to me to be quite sharp, there are two uncropped shots as examples of how far I cropped the others. They are examples from 1.4, 2.0, 2.8, and 4.0. All of them are quite sharp. I was impressed. I also am finding that uploading to the net is degrading the quality and color of the shots. I guess I need to tweak PS again. Damn I hate that crap.

Dave - I have always been a believer in trying something and if you like it - go for it. Your tests show that this lens is not as bad as others have said. BTW - if that is a shot of your nose - get the scissors out :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Results look fantastic, but what scares me is the pricetag - $US450. Ouch!

It's not that expensive when you consider it is f1.4 and has HSM. I think I'll buy it down the track too...

Your link doesn't work, but if you search the pbase equipment section there are a few users who have done pretty good tests on this lens.
