Seagulls in flight...Hi All,
Thought you guys might like (or not) this snap of a seagull I took with the standard D70 kit. Not post processing except for little levels.. Regards ChaPPy
In a word - WOW! Amazing shot, especially for the kit lens.
Make sure this is one you print out and put on display - it is all too easy to have these on the computer, but never really use them to their full potential by printing them and (for the really good ones) framing. *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Nailed it!Well done ChaPPy - the colours are stunning.
Did you shoor RAW or JPEG?
You nailed that one all right ChaPPy
Well done! That is a keeper for sure. I love the eye expression. I can't think of a funny caption though Someone else is sure to oblige Congratulations Graham
G'day,
That's a great shot! The sharpness and focus on the eyes is excellent... And his bluued mate seems to set the background off too, much better than plain blue sky behind him (or her?)... Good catch... Cheers, Mudder Aka Andrew
Re: Wow...
Yep he an't guna be happy!!!! Cheers Ray >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
Hey Chappy, great shot mate, they can either be hard to take pics of at time or easy in the right place. A bit of coaxing with some chips goes a long way at times, well down here it does.
Well done, better than mine, first try at seagulls, maybe ill stick to DUCKS. LOL Cheers John D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

Secret is out...Hey Guys,
Thanks for the nice comments...I think the secret is out... btw - Nice one John! Enjoy Richard
Absolutely great photos.
Now the first seagull looks a little bit bewildered. (oh my God, he's taking a photo of me !) Tell us: how much time are you spending catching these photos ? How is your partner coping with this ? Well done. Regards CD
HAHAHA so Richard i hit the nail on the head, it's amazing what some nice hot chippies can do to these scavengers.
Great shots still the same i didn't have any when i took mine and was 300mm with the 70-300 G. Cheers John D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

I thought it was time to break my silence.....
. . . . . . . . . Great shot ChaPPy! The colours are sensational and with the kit lens. Well done! I tip my hat as the seagull king - the title is all yours. Time for me to move onto another animal.... hmmmm maybe ducks would be something fresh (hehehe) cheers, Craig
Thanks guys. Yep, the kids got busy throwing chips in the air for the seagulls. I took about 40 shots with about 1/2 looking pretty ok. The ONLY one that was really good was the one I posted first. The rest are all ok but nothing spectacular.
..............Now let me go find some ducks...
Great shot chaPPy. Good capture and great colour also. BTW, how do you get such nice borders and your signature and a photo title on the photo. Ive been looking for a way to do this - is there a simple program or plug-in that you can use?
Thanks Vic
mmmmmmmmmmmmm NOT Cheers Ray >> All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism<<
RE: Vicareyus question..Hi Vicareyus,
It's just a simple border you do in something like Photoshop or any other package. If you would like to know exactly, lemme know.. ChaPPy
