Are my hands really steady? This picture was taken handheld standing on a rock in the middle of the creek with a 4 second shutter time. Is it normal to be able to do this? The picture is reasonably sharp (you can tell it isn't sitting on a tripod, but it's still pretty sharp).
Also feel free to critique this image, and comments on if it's normal to handhold for 4 secs and still get a passable image. http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php ... 0007&pos=0 My technique: I breathe in really deep and then breathe out completely relaxing my arms and collapsing them into my sides. Then I breathe in deep again while maintaining relaxed arms. Having legs spread a little helps as well.
Woooo Slow down there Chris. The fabled 8 seconds requires a lot of mental training. Let's see who can get the steadies 8 second shot (sneaks out with my VR lens...) W00DY Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
Dooda, it is amazing that you can stay still for that long.
I guess that you don't smoke or drink much and are not suffering from stress. You could use the same technique for shooting a rifle too. I bet you would be quite a sharpshooter. Steve.
