Hi All,

The blown out bit of his lunch is distracting but other than that I like it.

Nice shots mate, like the pelican one, The only nitpicks I have are the distracting piece of grass sticking in from the left of the picture on the lower half, also, the feather detail seems to have been blown out (at the top) judging by the monitor I'm using (which isn't calibrated by the way - not using my usual monitor)

Great photo of the gorilla.
How close did you get and what lens were you using ?
The pelikan is also nice and I like the native orchids with the waterfall.

Not to close, we still had the railing and moat in between.

I was using the 70 - 300 lens... I don't mind this lens, sometimes it doesn't focus all that quickly and is very noisy but other than that not a bad lens.

Wow, the shot of Magilla is great! Shows what the 70-300 can do when in the hands of someone who knows how to drive it... Great expression too, it makes all the difference with animal shots, well caught... You could get rid of the blown out bit if you want to, just select the general area (to protect the rest of the image) and try a color replacement in PS... Worth a try if it's distracting to you.

Went to see my primate friends today too, just in the process of posting and making a thread... Wow, what an omen...

Cheers,

Fantastic photos, especially for the 70-300. :)

The last one (without animals) is my fave, although i like them all really.

Gorillas were obviously one of the popular subjects today. Great shots and even better with the 70-300. The bright spot with the gorilla is not too distracting. Looks like you caught it napping!

I really like the waterfall pic too. The composition is really nice and the blur of the water finishes it off.
