Two wedding shots from Saturday

Hey guys.. Hurt me bad with crit on these two shots please

Wedding was Saturday just gone, in Grafton. Very lovely part of the world, especially at this time of year when the Jacarandas are out in bloom.

The light in the first one is lovely.. and its a good shot... only little niggle is that I would have perhaps liked her to be looking at the camera and maybe her dress could have done with a tug and a straighten to stop it pushing up under her breasts... (and the rolled hem needed straightening)... but honestly the dress thing... while we always try and get it perfect its nearly impossible to have it spot on everytime as we usually are working with time restrictions...

the second is a good idea... and one that I have done loads of times... I think though that you may have done with a higher ladder or a wider lens in order to get all of her in the shot.. the cropped hand and dress bother me a bit.. (although i am betting that she doesnt notice it).. I'd also clone a few of the wrinkles around her eyes ...as she has stretched her head so far back to look into the camera its kinda made them worse than I am guessing they normally are... another thing to remember with these kinda shots is probably something that myself as women can get away but maybe not so much a man... its the cleavage.. her breasts could have done with a small adjustment to seperate the cleavage a little maybe... but thats just me...

The DOF is nice in the first shot - wondering whether you could have re-composed the shot to get more of the jacaranda trees dominant as the background. I think it would have provided a cleaner background and more contrast.

2nd shot, for me she's looking up too much and might have been better as a portrait rather than a landscape orientation. A closer crop and shallower DOF would give it a more dreamier look to the image.

What did you see in those images? ie what did you visualise before you pressed the shutter? Did it match your expectation? Would you change anything in reflection?

I ask these because i would have shot it a bit differently, but i think that is down to style. ie our styles are different. I would have used a shallower dof

i agree especially #2 but kyle only has the one lens and was already shooting at 2.8 which is its max.

for your 2nd wedding mate i think you have done really well, a marked improvement over the first but i think the fact she is a relative probably helps as you would put more passion in to it.
