Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Breaking all the rulesI think I've broken just about every rule here:
1. Shot something with Cannon brand 2. Used manual extention tubes with a G lens 3. Heavily backlit without any fill in 4. Fly screen as background 5. 20 sec exposure without the use of remote 6. Used the idiot stick on the tripod instead of extending the legs 7. Composition is non existent Can anyone add to this? Ok, so what does this tell you about me? I'm an impatient lazy bastard who couldn't wait to try the just aquired extention tubes but couldn't be bothered setting things up properly. __________

The subject matter (watch) is chopped off at the bottom.
The background horizon isn't level Countering all of that, the exposure is excellent, as are the colours. Well done; I like it; to my mind, it works. g.

Did you break any of the rules of physics or gravity?

If you can get a shot like this by being impatient then I am looking forward to when you are patient - nice shot BTW

Excellent, i like it. You are an artisitic rebel/anarchist.
Funny thing is that the joins of the flyscreen are playing havoc with my eyes. I keep seeing white dots in the middle of the joins, except when i look directly at it. Weird. Just like one of those 'impossible pictures.' Brilliant stuff. Well done!!! Steve.

Steve, I hope I don't have to put an epyleptic warning on this photo
Mudder, not a monopod, a tripod with the centre column right up, which is essentially almost a monopod. __________

Steve,
Blame me for that. When you weren't looking, I came around to your place and drilled minute holes into your monitor. What you're seeing is the light shining through those holes. g.

There's no rule against this. 3 n's are ok or even 4 (esp. since nnnnsic might be watching) it's only ca_o_ with 2 n's that's a no-no (which has 2 n's ) And the shot is interesting depite/because of broken rules. I really like the riot of colour in the shot. Peter
