A stroll in between the weather with the d300those of us in sydney will know about the crap weather we've been having. so i took an opportunuity during a break in the weather to test the 3d tracking and metering. unfortunately it was blowing a gale and it looked like there was a friggin sandstorm so i didn't stay out long.
still, i was very happy with the AF system, it seems to be able to track even low contrast objects very well. i made a collossol error with the settings, i dialled in -0.7EV in the super bright glary conditions out of habit. bad choice cos the d300 seems to expose to the left whereas the d80 exposed to the right leading to blown highlights in these sorts of conditions. live and learn. had a heap of fun which is what really counts.
