DragonflyI took this picture when I was trying to capture a byttlerfly but
I ended up with a dragonfly instead. Untill a few minutes ago I had no idea of how beneficial this insect really is. It eats mosquitoes, midges, and other small insects like flies, bees, and butterflies. It is a valued predator, because it helps control the populations of harmful insects.
Re: DragonflyReally beautiful shot.

Re: DragonflyFantastic shot. Love the sharp wings against the soft background.
Re: DragonflyVery very nice, If I had to be picky, I would probably crop a bit off the bottom to just under the tip of the tail, and maybe clone the dark shadowy strip on the right.

Re: DragonflyWow!
Yet again - An excellent photo ! Well done Cheers Graham
Re: DragonflyGreat stuff!! How close were you to the fly?
Re: DragonflyThank you all for your kind remarks. I was about 1 meter and a half away. What I find remarkable is that the camera was handheld. I cropped the center of the image, which gived the impression I was closser.
