Adelaide NYE Early edition fireworksHi,
this was a classic case of wrong place right time - The early session fireworks were set off from a different place than expected and I was a 'bit' (understatement) close , felt the rumbles, smelt the smoke, and a bit deaf ...so a quick change to the 17-55 & hand held while lying on back at least gave me a couple of shots ...next year I'll be wiser But still a fun experience ... only 364 days till I get another go ... Happy New Year all Deb T DebT

Re: Adelaide NYE Early edition fireworks
Excellent shots for hand held. I had a similar problem last year, but I was able to move for the midnight version.
I really miss the Skyshow fireworks... Daniel Nikon D4, D2Xs, D70, Nikkors and Sigmas lenses from 10 to 400mm

Re: Adelaide NYE Early edition fireworksSome nice shots here Deb. I like the result in number two. The frame works well with the subject, and also think the smoke in number 3 adds a great element to the image. Smoke is usually a hinderence when taking fireworks but in this case I think it adds impact.

I went about 6 years ago and it was one of the best displays of fireworks I have encounted. laying back on the banks of the river looking skyward with the fireworks exploding directly above your head and feeling the impact of the explosion. Much like being on a boat in Sydney Harbour on New Years I presume Again great shots for a hand held Jase 4869 Guess What! ........I Have A Fever........And The Only Perscription........Is More Cowbell.
