Cliché Sydney Harbour Pano'sGive the time of year and the NYE antics, i feel i should not get too hammered for these cliché sydney harbour numbers...

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Cliché Sydney Harbour Pano'sThese are great, learning how to do panos is my next project.
Do you mind sharing which lens, how many shots and what you used to stitch and pp D80, 50mm F/1.8, 18-70mm DX, Sigma 10-20mm
Re: Cliché Sydney Harbour Pano'sGreat shots Gerry, been out and about again? Care to share the location where you took these from?

Re: Cliché Sydney Harbour Pano's
Typically i used 4 shots for these panos, i try to allow about 1/4 overlap or something, usually just pick a building and make sure i can see it in the next frame heres another from the same night Lens, I use the 17-55 f2.8, which is my new fav. lens and has not been off since NYE compared to similar shots with the 18-200 it makes a world of difference, both in focusing and sharpness. typically i was at about 30mm to try and get in the most distortion free range. stitch software was ptGUI - i find this the easiest, if it takes more than 2 mins i give up PP was with capture NX, this involved straightening, cropping minor shadow and contrast adjustment. A note about workflow, which changes every day for me I am trying the use of tif images from capture nx to ptGUI then tif out of ptGUI and back into capture nx for final straightening etc. One thing i have found and others probably have, is that the tif's straight out of ptgui cannot be opened in captureNX ?! So I have to saved the tif in another image editing program before going back to capture - royal pain in the ass and as a result i typically just use jpeg...keeps me in the 2 min realm.
yeah was on the way home from the north shore and had some time to burn, was there between 7:45pm and 9 pm, the exact spot was just along the eastern side (north shore) of the bridge, there is a little walk way there which has lots of nice spots to setup.. watch out for the mosquitos tho... planning to do glebe island bridge again soon if you interested (looking for good clear conditions on dusk), see below for last years crack. and from 18 months ago with the 18-200 gerry's photography journey
