White faced GibbonFrom the Melbourne Zoo earlier this year ... wasn't the greatest exposure - but he was only there for a second, and loved the DOF. Just a little playing with the exposure so far, and not sure where to take it next

Re: White faced GibbonThanks for the suggestions,, here's a play after some level changes..
I like the 2 focal areas in this one for some reason, with the hand drawing me to it
Re: White faced Gibbon
lost on me but i am a pleb. However, Tom, I hope you don't mind, I had a crack at ur web copy of the image, I think it has some good potential, especially if the original is in raw. All I did (in capture NX) was some d-lighting, about 25% high quality. Control colour point on the face and adjusted the brightness of his face. Adjusted contrast, i think about +15. Then sharpened a little. radius 2 at about 25% hth. gerry gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: White faced GibbonIt's a great shot! and it looks fabbo after what Gerry did with a little bit of post.
It almost looks like he should have a cigarette hanging from his hand there, reminds me a little of some people i know in newtown i love the personality in this one and the DOF is fantastic. well done!
Re: White faced Gibbonnice capture and I agree with the post done by Cameron. So tempted to add the cigar in his mouth...
Re: White faced Gibbon
I am not sure whether to that that as a compliment or not Its funny, the first impression I get from the picture is a sad old monkey (i use that term loosely) staring into space....but now you mentioned the ciggy / cigar, that could work to i guess gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: White faced GibbonIt is actually a SHE (named Von)
Interesting way you have two focal points, hehe. Exposure is very difficult in that enclosure so I think you did a good job and it could be played around with.
Re: White faced Gibbon
What post?? I think you have me and Jon confused.... Great picture, WOW to the redo that biggerry put up! Cameron

Re: White faced Gibbon
The ciggy in the hand does not quite have the same 'ring' for girl
hopefully it helps the OP gerry's photography journey
