New Zealand PanoramasTwo more images from my recent trip to NZ.
Both stitched together using Microsoft ICE, which I am liking even more. Along with Windows7, it's nice to use a Microsoft product that is actually good, easy to use and doesn't crash. D700, Sigma 12-24, multiple images Click on the images to view in a 1920 pixel wide image. (large size in dimension and bytes) Tasman Glacier, Lake and Valley. In order from left to right. The detail I got out of this amazes me with the high contrast sun not in a favourable position. It's a testament to how good the D700 is dealing with high contrast and maintaining detail. Who needs HDR when you have a D700? Franz Josef Glacier. There is a person on the lower left standing by the river which shows the scale of the glacier quite well. The person is very small and hard to see. (For those who have never been to the Glacier before and seen how big it is.) Due to recent heavy snowfall, Franz Josef glacier is advancing down the valley. Unlike most glaciers worldwide which are retreating because of politician's inaction and corporate greed. Steve.

Re: New Zealand PanoramasLike both of these, in particular #1 looks great. Such an amazing amount of detail, I'd love to see it printed large!
I happens a bunch of images that need to be stitched so I'm going to have a look at Microsoft ICE and see how it goes for me. Thanks for the tip!

Re: New Zealand PanoramasThat first one is great Steve, Looking at it, it appears like there is two different seasons in the one picture, on the left the cloudy storm look and on the right sunny weather - great stuff.
oh, and if you have looked at this post and not viewed the large res version...do it...now...its worth it gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
