free time = exploring old photos!!Well i've had a quiet day and i've been going through some old photos, and well i've got these images printed myself and hung on the wall in a black frame with a white matt and they look fantastic, well in my opinion. I just thought i would share them and get some feedback.
These are of my children Gabby aged 4 in this photo, and my son Nathan aged 2 at the time, yes a very big 2 year old!! The first shot is of my son looking at his sister, he hadn't seen her all day and to see her all dressed up he wouldn't stop starring at her!! lol too cute. The second is when we finally managed to stop him from starring, they both starred off into the distance, and this is one of my favourite shots of the kids i've taken. the background i would have liked better, but given that every other direction was road and people it really was the only option.....but still it looks nice in my opinion, but i think i am bias!! lol 2 x Fuji xt1,vg-xt1 grip, Fujinon xf 18-55mm 2.8-4, Fujinon xf 14mm, Fujinon 56mm 1.2.
Re: free time = exploring old photos!!The blur effect on the edges doesn't work for me. I'd prefer a dark vignette if you must dull in down.
Blur aside, the second is a nice image. It's just a shame they aren't looking at you.
Re: free time = exploring old photos!!What is this thing called free time that you speak of.. and where can I get some..
The shots are nice.. (and the kids are gorgeous).. I also am not too keen on the effect that you've used but suspect if it weren't so strong it would be quite effective.. the higher perspective you have taken them from makes them look vunerable and cutesy.. I like.. The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
Re: free time = exploring old photos!!Hi thanks for your feedback, i've adopted the changes you've both suggested and come up with these two, and actually i think they look much better, no idea why i didn't go with a vignette originally!! lol let me know what you think!! obviously a slightly different crop. can't wait to hear if there is any other ways of improving it, most welcome for pp.

Re: free time = exploring old photos!!Much better.
Personally i wouldn't have a vignette on the second image. The background in the corners are dark to begin with. Dark clothing in the top corners and concrete in the bottom corners.
Re: free time = exploring old photos!!Lovely kids,
my only suggestion is with #2 I would crop a tiny bit off the top to remove the section where the horizontal railing intersects with the upright bars. I think it would be less distracting that way. Nikon D700 D300
Re: free time = exploring old photos!!totally agree about the railing, will tighten the crop and remove the vignette and re print to hang on the wall in replace of the old blurred version!
