Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Beyond the Black Stump

Went down to the river hoping for a sunset which wasn't forthcoming.

Had found this weathered stump for some foreground interest and took a couple of shots.

Comments welcome

Really like the lighting in this one, Bob.
There are so many different shades of sunlight.
Great composition too.

I love this shot Bob, the lighting on the stump makes it look like it has been polished..

Ii's on the Maroochy River along Fisherman's Road near the boatramp.

A little awkward to frame it up due to surrounding mangroves, rocks etc which are a bit messy.

Apart from the haloing (JPG artifact?) and the effect of the graduated filter which can be seen, I like your composition and the bluish light on the log.

I like it. However, I feel it would have worked even
better if the foliage on the left wasn't there and you
had allow more water to the right. I like the colours,
the sharpness and the tranquility of the scene that
you captured so well.
