Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2I revisited this great location just to use my newly delivered remote (after it was lost somewhere in some beach )
Thanks to everyone who provided me valuable feedback from the last lot of shots in this location. One person even provided face to face feedback (during a recent meet) which was very much appreciated! I didn't expect tonight to be a show at all but it wasn't bad considering there weren't too many clouds at around 4:30pm. At last I had the location to myself without any weddings or other photogs.. It is a truly great place to witness the sunset. Despite a few street sounds behind you, one can get lost in the twilight.
Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2Suren, your pounding this location hard eh! I like the first two, a bit extra brightness and contrast might not go astray,
The composition is nice, however I get to the end of the jetty expectin something else, maybe if the sun ain't there go for the symmetry ? The otehr issue which is nothign related to you or the shots, I have seen this location photographed heaps, hence my wow factor is low since all the compositions are similiar. I reckon you need to don those booties and punch on for a composition that no one else has - especially now that I know you have no fear of the ocean! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2Much better than mark 1 Suren.
The perspective is better with the jetty providing the lead into the image. Just need the sun to cooperate and provide a heap of colour at the end of the jetty for impact and ultimate resting place for the eyes
Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2
Hmm.. I think my monitor seems to have been set too bright as of late... Thanks Gerry for your comments.
Here is one for you Gerry. I am not crazy about symmetry that much. I know the Engineering types are.
Fair nuf. I may have to don my booties and see some new compositions. It's just a lake so no waves. I will have to be careful of mud etc. Don't want to get stuck....
Thanks Ray. Next time I think a fisherman with a rod n hat in silhoutte..... .... .... Since it's accessible area + sunset is getting later, I will have a few more attempts.
Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2You are getting some very nice images from this location. All of these have an eerie feel about them, but have great balance between the sky and water.

Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2
I missed this one! I reckon thats about...say 200% better imo! I like it, ta for giving me symmetrical one..now only if that darn wharf was not crooked... gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Squids Ink - Blemont - Mk2
I am not sure whether it's the wharf or the horizon...
