East CoastHeres a shot from Minnamurra near Kiama on the South Coast.
I am still using a piece of cardboard for a grad filter as I cant afford a proper one yet haha Heres 2 from Newcastle this afternoon. Im not happy with them as I got there too late and didnt have enough time to find a decent spot but I figured I needed to contribute more to this great forum. Cheers matt
Re: East CoastHi Matt,
#1 I quite like the composition which leads you in. The foreground rocks have good detail. The middle ground is a little dark but still ok. #2 the sky looks oversaturated. Those subtle eastward tones at sunset are more pastel in my experience. #3 has nice colors but the composition to me isn't as strong. Pls tell us your technique with the cardboard grad (Also known as CB vari grad)
Re: East CoastFor a cardboard grad you are doing really well. I am guessing it is much like dodging in the darkroom but blindly rather than seeing what your doing.
#1 has great lines that lead you in, but that top edge could be a tad lighter (probably easier to control in the darkroom than on location though) #2 great colours in the sky, but the composition doesnt do it for me #3 has great skies, but two things bother me, there is a lack of balance (needs something on the LHS) and the horizon seems off a bit. Great stuff, I look forward to seeing mroe of your work Cameron
