350z Shoot

Postby B01NG on Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:46 pm

So a mate of mine bought a 350z and asked me to do a quick shoot for him. These were taken quite a few months ago, but only recently had time to upload them. Enjoy, C&C would be much appreciated =)

Re: 350z Shoot

hehe, I read that as 35 ounces and was expecting some serious white powder :)

you have some compositions here which could be improved with a bit of cropping imo (namely the middle two images), take for example, the second one, I light the light and the sign, but all the dead space outside of that is not doing you any favours, crop it out imo. It will also draw the viewer straight to the car, rather that having the various elements like the light and the sign competing with the car.

The same applies to #3, there is no need for space in front and behind the car, but the tree provides additional interest, cropping down from the top and sides would improve drawing teh viewer straight in.

In the last image, work on removing the surface inconsistencies on the door, it looks like a dent, but probably just the light, nonetheless cloneage is your friend.

What light source were you using for these? I hope you got teh issue sorted with your tripod also.

Looking at the first image (sorry no structure to my comments) get some more light out of the red brake light, even better maybe have the light turned on during the shoot..

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Thanks for the constructive comments biggery, i've always had issues with cropping images, i'll need to work on that =)

my wireless transmitter for my flash ran out of battery when i started the shoot, so i actually just painted the car with my speedlite by pressing the pilot button, quite dodgy but it did the job, haha.

As for my tripod, i haven't had time to take it to the shop, i'll need to get that done sometime next week.

Thanks again =)

not such a bad technique, if you soften it up it works quite well - plus you have done well working with what you had.
