Dec 2010 Randoms

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I like the last of these, it actually made me stop and wonder what was going on in the image and why she was sitting there...it totally captured my imagination! I like it thumbs up from me, I can't CC it i mean, you shot it from your hip....maybe a tad more contrast, but then I think it might subtract from the image.....so yeah i like it as it is!!

On a warm Thursday morning, I think she is texting or pxting or perhaps checking facebook on her mobile. Maybe doesn't want to miss the bus so wants to know when it runs over her toes?
Nice capture Cameron. Imagine if you had a swivel viewfinder?

I actually quite like the first image, even the fact that it seems rotated 90 degrees it still appeals to me in this orientation, the fact that you have to look closely at the photos draws you in and the partial ring of flowers raises teh question of tragedy, the packet of ciggies in the corner raises another whole plethora of judgements and questions.

Nice :) and thought provoking image

I like the second of these. The broken frets on the guitar convey to me a feeling of decay that's at contrast with the other elements that we see in this image.

And you've given me the germ of an idea for something we can do throughout the year; stay tuned, please.

Thanks, I am worried that the slight out of focus nature detracts but the image was too good to ditch for me, I have no clue why she was sitting there though.

That is a possibility...yes a right angle finder would be nice.....or even the live view focus of a Sony *GASP* SLT-A33/A55

It was something that caught my eye so I fired off one shot....can I claim dumb luck for the elements? It is an image that I kept due to the involvement it entices.
