It is a picture of one of the sculptures of the Australian Ron Mueck.
He uses size and dimensions to convey the feelings and passion of his subjects and detail to create a sense of reality in the observer. I like this one because of the fear and vulnerability it conveys and I hope you like it too.

The image is very confronting. I can only imagine how confronting the actual sculpture must be.
The image ... well constructed, with great contrast between the viewer and the sculpture. I'd actually like to see a series of these, with other people looking at the sculpture. I think that a study of observers' reaction would be wonderful. g.

This is an awesome photo with complementary treatment. As difficult as it is to define, there is very much a 'film' like quality to the image, which suits the subject perfectly.
The fact that it is confronting makes Gary's suggestion even more valid. Regards, Patrick

Thank you all for your kind comments. Ron Mueck's exhibition
was at the Modern Art Gallery of Brisbane in July 2010. I can only tell you that it is an overwhelming experience and don't miss it when it next visits your home town. Unfortunately, this is the only half decent picture I got with a visitor to give you an idea of the scale of the scultures, which are either gigantic or child-like in size, but all impressive. I wanted to capture a sense of wonder/ashtonisment, but the visitors were camera shy and quickly moved on. I think I was lucky with this one because the lady was unware of my camera, but I let you be the judge...
