Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

4 to peruseThings have been a bit quite on the forum lately so I thought I'd stick a few on for comment.

Re: 4 to peruseYou have an interesting set. The girls looking out of
the Hungry Jacks give the impression of something else more appropriate in the red light district. I like the B&W and the second althought it is difficult to see what attracts those three people at the blue door.
Re: 4 to peruseThe first one works really well, especially in the rain and the last one is good too. I find the middle two don't have a point of interest for me and don't work so well. The last one might be better cropped a bit further and maybe with the verticals corrected.
4 to peruseShame about the sign in the foreground if the hungry jacks one. I love it otherwise, very well seen.

Re: 4 to peruse#1 - excellent use of black and white (or should I say greyscale)
#2 - Too saturated for my liking #3 - There is no focal point #4 - Now this is interesting. I agree that the sign is off putting but the idea of a Hungary Jacks brothel is fascinating. Chris

Re: 4 to peruseI like the last the best Matt - I reckon you might be able to almost square crop that window (but leave it angled/slanted) to remove some of the other distractions

Re: 4 to peruseI have revisited and looked at these a few times (sorry for artificially raising the view count) and have decided that I dont mind #1 and #3, the Chinatown shot is a bit too random and accidental shutter release feeling for me and the last feels like it needs a crop to get rid of that signage at the bottom.
#1 does feel like there are too many people in it, if you only had the group in the middle or the guy with the umbrella it would be a real winner! #3 would be stronger if the guy on the sign was facing towards the camera or even just towards the left of the frame, but it is a nice image as is. The other thing that troubles me is the pole that impales him through the head. Cameron
