Love to here peoples views on my images, thankyou to those who have already commented (post was lost after the upgrade yesterday(?). Pls feel free to add your constructive critcisim (i have broad sholders).




This action shot I found very difficult to get the right light for, as I only had the D70's flash (no speedlight) and it was well and truely dark. (The subject is jumping over the bin, not balancing)





Now that you have seen the pics I will add that I have been on this forum on and off since September last year (since i got my D70). I am a complete beginner to photography & Photoshop and the D70 was my first camera. These are a few random images of mine over the last several months, i have many better yet have, understanbly, many many worse. HAHA!

In photoshop use the first image/frame as your canvas.
Load your other images and lasso the subjects, then use the making tool to get a finer cut around the subject. Copy the lasso-ed subject and then paste and line it up on the original image, from each of the images.
It's really basic when you get it...

Those are nicely done, Click. The first B&W is my fav, but all of them are cool. There are minor points to each of them that might make them more appealing.

The B&W shots seem a notch dark, like about -.3 to -.7EV.

The sequence shot is great. Excellent post job of combining the images. The nitpicks are that your shadow in it and is shot from a higher perspective than optimal. Had you sat on the ground, a little to your left, you'd have probably lost your shadow and had a perspective to show more of the jumper's face, like the barrel jumper shot.

Thanks for the advice Kerry,
The first B&W image i must confess to darkening on Photoshop to try and compensate for the sun being to blown out, even though I wanted to make a point of the harsh sun in the snow. But yeah i can see that the forground definitions could be lifted through lightening a touch.

When I went to photoshopped the first sequence shot I was kicking myself cause I had my shadow in the shot, eventhough I don't recall seeing it when I initially took the image.

its something i never have en eye for ... ie, what would look good B & W

I like the first black and white most... the second black and white makes you look to the distance first and it feels more like that should be darker.

And as a side note, next time put your images in the section designated for it, "Images Reviews and Critiques," not "General Discussion".

ive been back for ages mate, it waas only a 2 week trip

with regard to the board, i just sold it to star surf

and re short board ... myself and mate have 2 customs about to be ordered.

Aloha, full deck art, custom shortboard (polished glass etc too) ... getting em for $595 ! (anything even remotely similiar in perth surf stores is well over 700 and then some)

let me know if youre interested mate. Im getting a 6'5 swallow tail, 18 1/2, 2 1/2, standard glass, polish finish, mid size rails, single concave.

not sure on timing yet. The senior shaper is on long service leave. The shop we're going through is in busselton, and kicks the pants of anyone in perth, plus cheaper than going factory direct, and noone else in perth sells the aloha gear ... its a shame, extremely good shaper and glassing, aswell as a "freakshow spray artist" if youre into that side of things. The shop dude wants us to wait until the "zen lord king of shaping returns from leave"
