"3" Rejects...

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

OK... Here are my reject photos for the "THREE" Challenge:
Critique please... Click for bigger pics...<table width=400 border=1> <tr><td>Image</td><td>Three Towers... Rejected coz I thought it looked far far too much like Rokstar's winning entry in the previous comp...</td></tr>

<tr><td>Three Llamas - While these were rolling around in the dust they still didn't make for a very interesting photo in the end...</td><td>Image</td></tr>

<tr><td>Image</td><td>Moment of Awe - When will we be good enough to skate with the big kids???
Who knows... Maybe I should have submitted this one...</td></tr>

<tr><td>Three Palms - A snap of some Palm trees as a reserve</td><td>Image</td></tr><tr><td>Image</td><td>I thought that this one was far too corny!!!</td></tr>
</table>
Cheers, John

1, 3 and 5 all do it for me. Agree with your comments about 1, but it's still a great shot. The composition in 3 and 5 is great, perhaps a bit tighter crop in 5? Well done! :)

Edit: P.S. your post count is rather devilish at the moment, if you never post again we'll know why!

I actually like #5 the best even though it is a bit 'corny'. Nice work

I hope I don't sound too harsh but I find these all a little too literal. I think there are some nice shots (1 and 5 in particular) but for a comp like this I think a straight "3 x object" would have to knock people's socks off..

Please remember this is just my opinion! Sorry if i've stood on your toes.

DISCLAIMER: LAME ATTEMPT AT HUMOUR FOLLOWS:

Beetleboy,
You may be right. If the topic of the current challenge was "4" , it may be easier to think outside the square

John, that doesn't even come a close second to my dad's lame humour so you're pretty safe there!!

Example: last night he said there wasn't "mush-room" on our pizza's for mushrooms! And that's one of his greatest ever performances!

Liam =] PS - pity me!

Everyone's entitled to an opinion... and to a personal interpretation...

Maybe that's why these were my rejects...

How do you know it's full?
Cos there ain't mushroom inside!!
