Channel Mixed RoseHave posted this before in colour, but I was testing some Channel Mixing & came up with this which I rather like. Mic.
Love the rose! It seems to come out at you. Personally I would be tempted to trim about 10% more off the edges just to tighten it up a little...but that's just my taste. Thanks for posting.
Regards
Matt. K
first! Great shot!
sedond...How? my only question.. haha.. how do you get just the rose lit up and not the background? I take it this is studio work? And what did you do to this to make it just jump out at you? Thanks! mateo
Wow, this is great! The rose is just about ready to jump out...
Mic, you seem to be the extraction master so can I ask a dumb question... I tried to use the extract filter but find that the extraction option as well as some others like render, sketch, liquify etc. are all grey'ed out unless I'm working on a jpeg, when aorkign on a jpeg they all become available ??? They don't appear available with PSD, tif, nef etc. What am I doing wrong? Aka Andrew
Thanks guys,
No Extraction used here, though It had a dark green background of foliage and the rose was rather bright, I just used Levels and it went Black. Amazing I thought, The channel mixer made it even more impressive. Mudder > You have to be in 8 bit raw to use Extract and it takes a bit of practise to master, I could never have done this looking like this. I just wish Levels worked like this all the time. Thanks, Mic.
