Very nice shot and nice cropping. I like the DOF pulling the bird out of the background.

How big a crop was it?? Not sure if its just JPEG compression, but there are a few 'funnies' up above the tops of the wings.
Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Arthur,

Lovely; great exposure - beautiful backlighting, coupled with excellent shadow detail on the parts of the bird that aren't backlit, keeping the sublety of the bird's colouring intact.

I love this shot Arthur, beautiful capture! I am wondering if the colour balance is favouring cyan a little on the underside of the bird?

Great shot!

I love the way the light comes through the wings and tail.

Hi

Picture is not cropped at all! It was capture in jpeg as i did not use raw. The 'funnies' are natural - not due to jpeg or ps or dust.

Hi

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

White balance was set to "cloudy". As Gary mentioned, the colours are in tact and he is right.

The flock of pigeons would flew from the pavillion opposition the pond where my wife was feeding the ducks. They would flew over to join in the free meal. When i try to take close up shot of them, they would flew back to the roof of the pavillion. This repeated 3 times. So on the 4th time, i had the camera aimed at one of them. True enough, the flock flew towards us again. I was lucky to get the shot sharp and in good light. All the other shots were badly backlit as the sun was behind the birds. The camera's AF had alot of difficulty keeping up with the birds as they were flying toward the camera.

Exposure - Aperture Preferred. 1/500 at f6.7 -0.67EV. No Flash. Handheld.
