Now just get it converted to a Giacollato where they convert it to a mid mounted 5 litre V8 :D

A Sud Sprint, probably around 1982, but it looks to be in very fine condition.

We used to have one too, an '86, if memory serves me correctly. Ours was a Sprint QV, based on the mechanicals of the Sud's replacement, the 33.

These were a particularly attractive model, similar in body styling to the larger Alfetta GT, later GTV 2000, and then GTV6, and neither to be confused with the 2000 GTV that I currently have - for sale - or the current GTV6.

Actually, it looks earlier than an 82 ... maybe even a 79??

Yeah, but is it a Holden or a Ford? I don't know enough about cars to tell :lol:

Glen,

That would be Giacottolo. Paul What's-his-name from the old Toy Factory in North Sydney had a bit to do with them.

Totally stripped the FWD mechanicals and replaced them with a high-end Holden V8 mounted amidships, as I recall. Upgraded the gearbox and brakes (as good as the standard brakes were, the power increase was around 200%) and, of course, the suspension.

The irony of all of this today is that the new Alfa V6 engine is based upon the Holden V6 block. The build 'em here as a full engine, ship 'em to the US where they dismantle most of the bits and pieces, and then ship the blocks to Italy where the Alfa Engineers get to play with 'em.

From all the reports I've heard, the differences are simply amazing, and there's no way you can tell that the engines share a common block.

And Saab are also building their own version of the engine too, but their tweaks are apparently in no way comparable to the Alfa tweaks.
