Taken with my Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6D APO Super Macro.

Focal Length: 300 (switched to macro, couldn't get it to focus without at smaller focal lengths)

Think I had the exp. meter about 1/3 to 2/3 steps positive. Used a couple of coasters on the carpet to get the lense at the correct height. Set it to timer mode to reduce vibration. Bit of photoshop level and color adjustment. Due to the two incandescant lamps in pink lampshades giving the picture an overall pink tinge.

In fact, i reckon it's a professional model.

Although the photo seems a bit on the soft side. Did you run it through a blur filter to give it that 'soft focus' look to get more 'cuteness' out of your subject?

I did do a smaller version that I just sent via email to my sister with a sharpen filter applied to give more detail to the cats fur.

I don't like 'em. Personal opinion only, but I've seen some soft, and some sharp, images from Sigmas.

But generally, my impression has been that build quality seems to tend towards Hyundai rather than Benz. Given choice of Tamron or Sigma, Tamron seem better, but again, we only have Nikkor glass in this household.

I'm half considering packing up my F80 with Nikkor 28-70 and the Sigma 70-300 APO Super Macro and selling it on eBay. Then with the proceeds get either the 70-200VR or 80-400VR.

Hey Kipper, If you decide to sell the sigma let me know how much you want for if, it will go well with my Hyundai.

Remember the old adage - a hyundai will get you from A to B the same as a Rolls.

If you like the lens you are using - no matter the make - then use it with pride - and also remember that anyone can have the best gear in the world but that does not make them a good photographer!!

By the way Kipper, I was being serious, I really do have a Hyundai and I would prefer to have the Sigma 70-300 to my Nikkor 75-240.

Well I have the 70-300MM G in my collection today, picked up for $240. Could of got it cheaper but hey I was in Teds and it was cheaper than Vanbar so I decided what the heck. What I'll do is play with both lenses and decided which I like the most. The loser gets to go into the F80 kit that I'm going to sell.

Love the shot kipper, I think that cats can look better with a little softness in the shot.

That isn't quite true.

As soon as you encounter a difficult road situation - a corner that tightens up, or a vehicle traversing your path - the primary safety features that the Rolls (Alfa, Benz, BMW, Citroen, Porsche, Renault,, Volvo, VW) have will help you to drive through and out of that danger situation - possibly saving your life.

Hyundai doesn't come close when it comes to primary safety, and I would much rather avoid an accident situation than become involved in one.

You still need to know how to drive car, though.

I have a 1969 Alfa 1750 GTV, and a 1972 Alfa GTV 2000. They go perfectly with ny Nikkormat FTn.
