hi,

On the week end went for a lazy drive in the Dandenongs. On the way visited the William Ricketts sanctuary. He devoted his life for the aboriginal people. He has made some amazing clay sculptures (I think 92 or so) over there. Here is my attempt with the D70. Sun showed up from time to time although most sculptures are in the shade. That whole area is covered by tall (mountain ash oak I think) trees. Used the flash in different modes only to find out I have plenty to learn in the flash photography :? .

Please comment/critique.

Rest of them are here

Hi Ajax. Looks like an interesting place. I'd be freaked out walking through the bush and coming across those statues! Anyway you did a good job capturing them.

Cheers,
Owen.

I love that place... Visited it in 1990 and 1998 and the deterioration in the statues was noticeable... It looks like they've been restored since then...

There is another William Ricketts exhibition in Alice Springs for the fans of his work...
