Here's the shot I decided on for the competition. I perfer it in colour somehow.

Thoughts, criticisms? Anything I overdid in post processing? Anything appreciated, cheers!

Your picture of the bee enveloped by subtle petal shades of pinks and reds is nature at its best.

You are right IMHO, it does look much better in colour.

I feel it's got about 10% too much sharpening. There is a bit of jpg 'artefacting' on the very edges of the petals especially on those on the left. Otherwise it looks good.

The red is very intense. i wonder if you could play with a curve to adjust the brightness a little bit, to give it a little bit more contrast, just to make the whites/brights stand out a bit more....just a thought or two.

It's a nice photo, however imho the subject is a little bit underexposed (fill flash?).
