Mark

I have to say that is the lousiest macro shot you've posted so far. Kinda looks like a bench in a forest to me

Seriously, a great capture with a nice mood to it.

Beautifully worked image Mark. :) Now tell me you didn't go and drag a red park bench all the way there  or was that part of your props kit you carry in the back of the van
cheers
marco

Very nice capture.

My only suggestion would have been that IMHO it would have been better with a slightly darker sky (polariser or something) but as it is I like it anyway!

Sorry to say this but there is something in this image i don't like. Unfortunately i can't put my thumb on what it is. It may be the way the image rushes to the right, or it could be the apparent lack of saturation, even though it isn't de-saturated or maybe the subject is too far away for my liking. Maybe i had a bad experience in a place like that and my mind has shut out the memory:)

I have revisited your image three times but i still don't know what it is i have a problem with. It must be a good image if it gets that kind of an emotional response from me :)

Sorry to be OT in the thread, but how could you do that?

(I'm genuinely interested).

Thanks for the comments folks.

Here is B&W version a few people suggested. Bumped the contrast a little.

I think this would look good with a selective colour treatment (leave the chair red and B&W background) but I don't have access to my home computer as I am in Perth for a week so I have limited editing capabilities.

Marco, it was getting a bit heavy so I left it there.

Steve

I see what you mean. I think it's because the trees on the left look front on, but the seat runs off on an angle and they conflict in terms of the 3D perspective cues our brain uses when processing a 2D image.

I like the colour version more than B&W.

I think the black and white isn't quite as strong as the colour (too many highlights and not enough details) and the selective colour is weaker than the black and white.

Stick with the original.

You cannot get the contrast right or the color when working off a very low res image off a web site.......I can only give the general idea of what it would look like......... this should be taken into consideration when posting a comment ....... as you have stated before that you are not a fan of selective color.........

Thanks! Will look for it.

And really like the selective colour treatment.

Bernie, very nice variations. I like the enhanced blue sky in the first one and I think the image lends itself to selective colour. :D

Great job on a low res image. I will definately have to have a play with the original when I get home.
