Saved this little fellow from being a spiders' dinner after he got tangled in a big web. After the rescue he stayed on my finger for about 10 minutes. I grabbed the camera, the Tokina 12-24 was on the body so I had a go with that.
Regards.

Owen - this is a truly superb photograph with the exception of the heavy vignette

The tunnel vision (vignette) really suits the shot. Such a friendly dragonfly. I like this shot, its well executed

I really do think that the vignette suits this photo, and it is a great capture at that.

I am with Chris a lovely image but somewhat marred by the vignetting.

Awesome stuff! I guess it pays to play saviour everyone once and awhile...(but don't starve your spiders too much ;-0)
Really interesting shot, and I think I like the heavy vignetting affect too.

Thankyou very much guys. I feel like the darker corners add something, as without the vignette the frame seemed rather empty.
Thanks for the comments
Owen.

For those who are interested, here is the shot with only a slight curves adjustment.

This image looks like it was made with a pinhole camera. I love it.

Great shot Owen.
I like the vignetting effect on the first one better though.

At first I thought it might look better without so much vignetting, but now that you've posted an adjusted verion I actually like the first one a lot more. Very nice shot.

owen,
Have you cheer with your new friend a cold beer? Nice shot and well capture.
I don't mind seeing the vignetting on this photos, though you will never escape it by shooting in one hand with other hand is not too far from the lens wide open, and the vignetting also contributed some values to the photo itself.

Amazing shot - well done!
Interesting to see the different views on vignetting - for me, I love it in the first one. The second version has less impact.
Goes to show that the wider angles aren't just for landscapes eh!

Owen,
Truely a great photo. Just shows to shap a great shot you don't need hours of planning, hours of setup and a huge budget. Keep it simple works. Well done.

Nice one Owen, the vignette gives it a lift too, I think.

My own personal tastes, I think the heavy vignetting works well with this image and leads more into the story.
There is alot to be said with constructive vignetting on particular captures
Good work Owen
