Took this photo while driving in Sukhothai province in Thailand. Not sure if it works though.

I'm still a pretty inexperienced photographer as far as forum members go, but I thought I'd have stab at feedback since I tried similar shots of paddie fields while in Bali last year.

Is it just my monitor, or is the shack slightly out of focus? I would have perhaps got closer to the hut to make it the focus of the photo as well. There is also possibly a little too much foreground.

But in terms of a record of your trip, I think it does a good job capturing what rural Thailand must look like.

Alex the image is colourful and there is potential in the subject but a couple of points to consider
1) critical sharpness is lacking in the photo
2) the composition needs careful thought and possibly applying some general rules, rule of thirds(hut say positioned off centre, foreground interest( a fieldworker carrying basket over shoulder, riding bike, walking with tools over shoulder), leading lines(e.g tree line from foreground leading round to hut or old dirt road leading up to hut with perhaps a field worker in foreground to the side walking toward the hut- but you get the idea)
3) Time of day and lighting needs to be more carefully selected. The 'golden' hours.
4) that sky needs a makeover it's all washed out. Careful use of a polariser or graduated filter to balance the strength of the light between sky and rest of image

i agree with marco here.... different time and a few rule following and i think this would image would tell a bit more of a story. the subject is interesting, however it doesn't quite hold my attention. just remember.. it's only my opinion, everyone sees things differently.
