Western Plains Zoo Dubbo NSW Visit it if you ever get the chance!

We took the early morning tour to get close to the animals well worth the cost and effort.

The only downside was the biomass of flies outweighed that of all the other animals in the zoo! Remember the Aeroguard!

WOW what a great photo ! I was trying to get something like that but I had one piece of carrot and a crowd of people.

They have fabulous prehensile tongues soft but leathery.

Next time I will go there dressed as a carrot.

amazing it looks so surreal!
till i read you used the 10-20 no wonder

but still great subject matter and tone
it's probably the most artistic shot i have seen from a zoo.

Great series of shots... Giraffes are very cool !

I like the first image the best but found the tree's in the top right of the image a little distracting, maybe a bit of PP ?

The second shot is a cracker too, I'm amazed the giraffe could swipe that small bit of carrot from you with such a large tounge. There is a small shadow to the left of the hand that could use a tad of PP.

Congratulations on some great images

Its only because you stir up the great apes Doug

As i said in email, someones gonna get sued for painting that horse with spots and taking it to the rack instead of spending some money and getting a decent chiropracter...

yes Tim, they found the 30.06 on me so I had to take the DS70 in instead.

Hell, me take wild life shots? I don't think so!

Terrific shots - really accentuates the length of the Giraffes neck.

Great shots Dug. I used to live in Dubbo, had a yearly ticket to the zoo and took the kids every couple of weeks. Must have some shots on film somewhere, will look for and post them one day.

Good work
Craig
