Hi All,
Thought you guys might like (or not) this snap of a seagull I took with the standard D70 kit. Not post processing except for little levels..

In a word - WOW! Amazing shot, especially for the kit lens.
Make sure this is one you print out and put on display - it is all too easy to have these on the computer, but never really use them to their full potential by printing them and (for the really good ones) framing.
Wow...

The image was shot with JPG hi. I find RAW to difficult to work with - to slow even on a pretty fast PC.
I'll hope to post some more images shortly!

I love the eye expression.

Someone else is sure to oblige
Congratulations

G'day,
That's a great shot! The sharpness and focus on the eyes is excellent... And his bluued mate seems to set the background off too, much better than plain blue sky behind him (or her?)... Good catch...
Cheers,
Mudder

Hey Chappy, great shot mate, they can either be hard to take pics of at time or easy in the right place. A bit of coaxing with some chips goes a long way at times, well down here it does.
Well done, better than mine, first try at seagulls, maybe ill stick to DUCKS.
LOL
Cheers

excellent pic
expecially with the kit lense you must have more patiance than most to get a seagull that close to you excellent work on the composition with the framing of the second gull

Great shot chappy, can't almost believe you used the kit lense
You must of had a chip on your head or something to get that close :0
I swear the shot looks like it was taken at 200 or 300MM with VR
Secret is out...

Absolutely great photos.
Now the first seagull looks a little bit bewildered. (oh my God, he's taking a photo of me !)
Tell us: how much time are you spending catching these photos ?
How is your partner coping with this ?
Well done.

Thanks guys. Yep, the kids got busy throwing chips in the air for the seagulls. I took about 40 shots with about 1/2 looking pretty ok. The ONLY one that was really good was the one I posted first. The rest are all ok but nothing spectacular.
..............Now let me go find some ducks...

Great shot chaPPy. Good capture and great colour also.
BTW, how do you get such nice borders and your signature and a photo title on the photo. Ive been looking for a way to do this - is there a simple program or plug-in that you can use?
Thanks
Vic

Hi Vicareyus,
It's just a simple border you do in something like Photoshop or any other package. If you would like to know exactly, lemme know..
