As title said this is simply a cat portrait, I did not know what to do while waiting for my wife shoping.

seriously though, there is very little of interest in the frame either side of the cat, I think you need to portrait crop this.

I agree with Steve - did you tell the cat that if it didnt' stay still for the photo you'd skin it???? LOL
Go with the portrait crop, and it will make all the difference

Thank Rel and Steve, I've just tried to crop it and it does look better, I learnt alot from this forum

, the reason the cat look at me because i hold a box of cat food in my hand to make it looking at me.

Hi Matt
I only wanted to experiment the fill flash with my 28-70 while waiting, and I am only less than 1 m from the cat, it turn out that the pics look a bit funny

and sharp, now I know that light is one of the key of sharpness, this lens if stop down a bit ( f4 or smaller ) is a capable lens.

Agree with the comments about the portrait style crop to remove the dead space...
