Photo with overt PPhttp://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=14&pos=7
I like the occasional photo with lots of fx on it, it was a much bigger challenge with film than it is with digital PP, so it is a bit ho hum now. But I enjoy it nevertheless. This is one of those. Greg - - - - D200 etc

lots of fxHi Greg B,
what is a lot of fx ? Or for that matter what is fx ? I like the shot: http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php?album=14&pos=7 The small format seems to give me the impression this is a shot from the past. A child that now may be a grown up. Looking back in time. Perhaps old style snap shot like ? However the "full size" photo reveals some blown whites. But there is something for me in the smaller photo. I like it a lot. Cheers CD
GregB,
1000 posts, it's long way to go isn't it? club 2000 is on the way. Congrat and greatly appreciated your contribution! Birddog114

G'day Greg,
Very nice, very dreamy and gives an impression of a distant child-hood memory... I'd be tempted to try even more soft focus or maybe a bit of blur and in black & white... Very nice... Oh, and congrats on passing the 1k post mark! Cheers, Mudder Aka Andrew
Hi Greg,
I agree with the others - I love the feel that is given to the image through the post processing. The blown whites aren't an issue to me as I feel that compliment the old dreamy look in the image. Did you use a plug in filter like virtual photographer for this or was it a big PP job from scratch? As others have said, well done on achieving the big 1000. Your contribution to the forum is appreciated. Cheers, Craig
Re: lots of fx
I REALLY like this image and the effect. I think Christiand said it best above, this is exactly what I thought when looking at it the first time. W00DY Andrew
Nikon D3 and lot's of Nikon stuff!!
I like it, has a timeless quality to it. I agree with you that sometimes some over the top (even slightly so) PP can really make a photo look fantastic rather than just great.
Maybe when she gets older you could take one in the same spot with a straw hat and ribbon in her hand. I think that would look good and really compliment this photo as a series. (or even her mother, rather than her when older). Sorry just thinking out loud. Cheers Brett
Thank you all for your comments. I love that dreamy old world look, that's what I wanted, and that's what you have seen, so I am very pleased.
Jordan, I used a couple of plugs on this, Virtual Photographer and KPT6 Equalizer, and a bit of other tweaking. I really like the effect from the equalizer. Greg - - - - D200 etc

ChristianD, In case you hadn't realised already - fx is short hand for effects... Cheers, John

Thanks for that clarification leek.
Sorry Christiand, I kinda thought you were asking the question more in the philosophical (and rhetorical) sense than the literal Hence I didn't answer! Greg - - - - D200 etc
