This was taken along with others I had taken June 3rd...the capture does not overly enthuse me but none the less does have some aspects I like. This was also during the time when the waves were so strong and powerful....I had never seen such strong waves in this location before and each wave was full of sand from the underwater turmoil.

i quite like it... don't usually go for shots that have the horizon dead in the middle of the frame, but i think this one works nicely.

can you share the exif info?

cheers

I think it works, mainly because of the colours. Very moody, I like it! :)

Only thing missing is Wendell standing on the rocks ;)

This is nicer than the last one I commented on Paul - love the colouring in the clouds :)

Not sure about Wendell on the rocks, but a figure in white robes would of gone down a treat, possibly with a staff trying to command the sea ? Maybe it's just my imagination...

Thanks guys :!:

And yes....1 sec exposure is a very good educated guess

Actual was 1.3 sec.....f16

Works for me! Colours and the power of nature. Great combination.

what a wonderful sky.

very moody etc etc,

for me though the foreground lets this shot down though

Awww....   ....that's what I had thought also..the foreground hurts the image as an overall placement/comp in my eyes also

lost dingo: keep the shot and use the sky in a composite of something else with a powerful foreground.
a sure winner then.
because that sky is fabulous

I like it, a fantastic moody sky, the foreground may be missing something (maybe someone just standing there, staring out to sea?) but I still like it :)

Beautiful image Paul. Love the way the turmoil in hte waves echoes that of the sky. Love the splash of light hitting the rock shelf on lower left of frame. If I would add anything I'd be tempted to pull back on the exposure in the waves and get a little more detail happening there. :) Other than that gorgeous and a 'wish I took that' kind of shot :)
cheers
