Nice stuff Yip, I think #1 is my favourite, the conventional composition here just works and works well.
#2 is perhaps a little dark and uneventual in the foreground compared to how busy the mid and background are. BTW I couldn't view larger versions of either, I get a 403 error ?

Yeah I did use the 50mm reversed... will post up some macros later on or maybe tomorrow, im tired from the long day


I fixed up the link now, it should be fine for large versions

The links work now, and I still like the first, and seeing the bigger version of the second I'd suggest and it may or maynot work a crop from about the bottom of the boat at the right... removes the empty blackness I was referring to earlier.

Ok, I will work on a crop for that later





This can be bit dark, but I like it being dark this way

Your first two are a bit too ordinary for me but the second one above this post is a standout, I'd say.

If it were me, mind you, I'd crop it just a little more on the left to get rid of that little bit of the crane that's popping out.

Something was bothering me about #1, and I think I've worked out that it's the frame.

#2 is really nice, but I would crop some of the bottom off as the darkest parts of the water don't add much.

#3 is great - again I would consider cropping off some of the bottom. And Leigh's suggestion of getting rid of that crane is a good one, too.

Love no. 2 it has a Hong Kong feel to it. I agree its a bit dark in the foreground. Where is that taken from? Ive havent noticed that little light house before?

That little light house?? Thats right in front of the Maritime Museum... just walk further a bit from Darling Harbour into Pyrmount and you will see it...

#1 very 'postcardy', but the post of the boat is great - this really works for me. If you are worried about the crane in the left of the frame, I'd clone it out rather than crop - I think further cropping would get too tight

#1 and #2 are both great takes on this location and I like the dark mood to them. In #2 - this is the first pic I've seen from there that makes the most of the Endeavour being next to the lighthouse. Well done.

It was also good to catch up with you yesterday.
