this is from last weekend - just found another 2gig card I'd forgotten to upload. Takes me up to 3000 images for that weekend. I'm really happy with this capture for the amount of flying balsa wood in the image and for the dynamic appearance of the horse on the left.

Image

# Model: NIKON D70
# Shutter Speed: 10/50000 second
# F Number: F/2.8
# Focal Length: 300 mm
Would have been ISO200 if my memory serves me well.

Folks, you really have to look at the higher res version, it transforms the image tremendously.

The large version is very engaging (I really hope it is balsa wood they use). Good detail and separation from the background.

Cheers
Steffen.

Thanks Steffen,
those lances are made as per the original C14-C15th versions in that the handles are hardwood, the middle section is soft pine, and the two foot tips are balsa.

Well captured Mark, and I agree with Steffen, you have to view the high-res version to appreciate the shot.
