Water!
A Small cascade on the Milford road
The Blue colour is due to minerals suspended in the water... I love it!
And this was on a track on the side of the Holyford Valley

nice shots all. The water in #2 seems a bit distracting, not sure why. Like the use of ferns for framing in #1 and like the composition of #3. Excellent job on the exposure! Bravo

I'd prefer a slower shutter still - to bring out the silkiness of it all. But these are generally nice.
Did you have to pull details from the shadows or did you just crop out the bright/blown parts? (cos I'm noticing at the edges of 1 and 3 they're tending towards blown exposures).

Both out of camera... (no time for PP yet!)
Yeah I agree Onyx but that was about as slow as I could go without stopping down to much...
I need a ND filter...

I am so happy you said that!
Why...
Because for number one I had to set up camp on a tourist walkway to get the framing right (tripod and all) and there were many unhappy people...
And for three... well lets just say I got a wet arse

Yep, ditto. Number 1 for me. That blue colour is amazing. If only our lovely Murray River could look like that!

I too like No #1. It's small, it's simple, it works...... nice exposure and good composition too.

my preferesnce would have to be #2. The colour of the water is quite spectacular, and I know it can really be like that
You are making me very homesick!

Thanks for all the comments!
Seems like the rule is simplicity is nice... as it was one of the easier shots (ignoring irate tourists) to get...

I really like #1 "A Small cascade on the Milford road ", seems so peaceful, unimposing and serene... Nice composition with the canopy of ferns etc...
New Zealand has some beautiful locations and scenery... You must have had a ball...
Cheers,
Mudder

Great pics, NZ is a beautiful country, loved every minute of the 3 weeks we spent touring there recently. The South Island - what a place!
Cheers,
