I had to have a go at getting a few postcard style shots of sydney at some point :p
You must click the thumbnails for the full image as they are automaticly cropped (need to work out how to fix that at some point).
I got locked in the botanic gardens taking this shot and had to be escorted out by the ranger :p
Milson's Point pano
Anzac Bridge at sunset
C&C welcome
Jack.

they aren't too cliche
the 1st one has a great tone to it
the 2nd has a pretty original perspective to it never seen an image that wide
and the 3rd has menacing perspective i like that one the most

I really like the full sized (linked) Anzac Bridge one - the traffic, the sunlight shining through, the transition from dark blue to yellow in the sky looks great, and certainly not cliched.
The other two are still classic shots : I would have gone for a longer exposure for the Milsons Point panorama (though the Bridge looks excellent in that one), but the Mrs Macquarie's Chair one is great.

I like all three of these, but almost didn't go take a look because I falsely assumed the thumbnails showed the whole image, whereas they are a tiny part of a much better shot. Having looked at the large versions, the Anzac Bridge shot is the standout - It's a difficult subject, nicely framed and it makes the most of the available light. The Milsons point shot is excellent too and about the right exposure for my tastes.

Thanks for the comments
I got the stupid cropped thumbnails fixed now too, so the whole frame is now in the thumbnail.
The Anzac bridge one is probably my fav out of the lot too, and I agree, it isn't as cliche as the other two.

Wow, like Peter I almost didn't click the thumbs, but I was impressed by your results, my favourite of the three is the second one. Would look great on a wall with nice frame I reckon.
Cliche...?

I agree with Windellt. I don't think they are cliche at all. Each one is very good in its own way and all of them are sharp and have great depth of field and beautiful colours. I guess my favourite one is the bridge but I would be very proud of myself when I eventually manage to take similar type of cliches.

Hi Six,
They are fantastic shots. I cant wait to get my D70 back from Maxwells so I can get some harbour shots before I move north.
The Anzac bridge shot is good, there arent many places to get such a great shot of the bridge.
Cheers
Steve

I don't think these are cliches at all - I like 'em! Nice exposures all of them - looks like you've got a dust bunny though (or is it a UFO?)
Cheers

That's why they are cliches - everybody likes em!
Number 2 is especially good.

Maybe cliche'd but strewth, they're very well done...
The
Opera House and the pano are excellent, looks like you got the exposure spot on, very nice work... They'd look great printed...

I like them all, but #2 is a standout for me.
Exposure is perfect for my liking and great composition,
Opera House/City Skyline/Harbour Bridge combo is awesome.
Print it and hang it for sure.
