Matt - your D70 needs a cleaner built-in.

Your pic needs a bit of PP - lighten and contrast

Cheers

Arrr, the ethical question...... to clean or to get the shot?

Matt, after much deliberation, I think you made the right decision

I hope you don't mind MATT but I followed Chris' lead:

A quick Levels adjustment (plus WB) and 2 USMs (one to boost contrast and one to sharpen).

Email me if you want me to take this down! Hope I haven't stood on your toes!

Liam =] PS - I've compressed this quite heavily to save space on my server!

No probs Beetle,

Its good to see sometimes what people can do.

I tried a little lighning and contrast but wasn't happy with the results.

I'll try again.

Question what is USM??

Edit to remove duplicate posts - I got a couple of "Invalid Response" errors, and bing, I'd submitted three identical posts!

A slightly softer approach:

The best thing about PP is that you can try lots of different looks, until you find one that suits you. Or that could be the worst thing, for slightly indecisive people like me... Then again, I'm not sure.

Nice digitor - a nice pic has become a great pic with the PP - emotive plus technical

Chris

Hmm

Hmmm..methinks I went a little overboard!

I used my homemade contrast boosting Action and have inadverntently killed the skin tones and blown the whites! Just pressed F3 and thought; that looks better!

Liam =]

Note to self: don't watch TV while PP'ing!

Levels, very slight curve tweak at the bottom end, slight local contrast boost around the face using the usm filter, (can't remember the exact numbers, but something like 30-25-3), photo filter #81 @ about 20%, and usm I think about 100-0.5-1.

Sounds complicated when you write it down, but it took longer to type than do!

Matt

Great photograph! In years to come, you'll get lots of laughs reminding your daughter about the time when (fill in the blanks). Could be worth sending that one to Hardley Normal for printing.

Now, if she were my daughter, I'd be turning the lawn sprinkler on and encouraging her to have a crawl on the lawn! :D all before mummy comes home of course.

Also a dishwasher is handy for cups and spoons. Might need to hire a Karcher to clean the high chair though.

Well done

Cheers

Graham
