The second shot is so powerful with the power of nature looming over the smallness of humanity. It may have been an experiment and they may not be absolutely perfect but the shots were captured and that is the important factor. Chris Chris

Perhaps if I used linked SB-800's Seriously though, that first shot was a real photographic challenge as without flash the snow line on Mt Cook exposed to the same level as the horrid white cloud so there would be no point photographiing it (look here they are against a plain white background) New page

It was actually quite warm down there... about 25 degrees... that mountain with the ice in front (mt Cook) is 3000 metres higher than the place where that image was taken
