The Climb

1100m vertical climb, climbing up a hevily vegitated gully, passing into sub-alpine scrub and then alpine grasses... at about 1600m (900m above the valley floor) you hit the last challenge... Heavy, slipery cold, wet snow....

Shouldn't the bubs have a hat on??? Her skull will freeze :)

I must say with all your photos I am tempted to change my tassie holiday at the end of the year (walking the Overland track) to NZ :)

Yes I got off easy with the 20kg back pack with cooking gear, clothing, sleeping bags, wet weather gear, radio, and not to foreget camera gear ;)

it reminds me of Disney World except without all of the disappointed screaming children and upset tired parents and concrete structures and hour long lineups and crappy food. I really like the expression. She looks truly exhilarated.
