nodabs,

Pic 1
I like the exposure, the only thing that let's it down, in my opinion, is the balance of Sky to Water/Ground. What sort of lens are you using ? Perhaps a wider angle would work better in this instance. Not a bad effort but, I like it.

Pic 2
An improvement to Pic 1, exposure is good also and balance is nice.

Pic 3
Very nice, a bit more light would make this an awesome shot by defining the features a little more, good effort none the less.

Pic 4
Again quite nice exposure but I think the balance ratio is a little out. Perhaps you mean't it to be like that though did you?

Pic 5
Sky looks awesome, lower part could do with some more light like in Pic 3 but that would require some serious post processing to acheive without killing that awesome sky.

Excellent effort.

Cheers
Brad

Was using the kit lense for all of these and your right the balance of componants is off

thanks i would have liked to get a little more detail in the boats and water, bracketing and blending would probably help

Pic 3
Very nice, a bit more light would make this an awesome shot by defining the features a little more, good effort none the less.

This one and the ones like it i think i need to re think abit and try to actually make a feature out of something wether that is the line of the lapping water the tunnel of light, but it seems featureless to me

Pic 4
Again quite nice exposure but I think the balance ratio is a little out. Perhaps you mean't it to be like that though did you?

hehe you got me, i was taking another shot and the boat was coming out so i ran down the pier to try and get a more classic leaving the harbour pic but the boat was too far out and i have to zoom too much lost the picture i really wanted and didn't take the time to copose

I think this is another work for bracketing and blending. i was pitch dark and i think this was a 20 or more second exposure. what i think would have been a neat idea is too grab a spotlight and "paint in" the dock. i've been playing with light painting for studio type stuff and it works really well and i'm dying to try out in the field.

thanks again critique like that is what help us improve :)
