Hi everyone,
I just got back from Temora where the NSW Aerobatic Championships have taken place.
Thanks to Ree I had access to everything within safety limits and was able to take shots of aircraft taking off.
Ree's presence opened doors and made it very easy for me to wander around.
I even got a proposition to go up with the YAK 52 and do aerial shots of three rare One Design aircraft in formation.
Unfortunately one of the One Design aircraft had a technical problem so that shoot was called off.
Taking shots of the aerobatics wasn't quite possible du to the altitude the aircraft were flying.
I'd like to share with you some of the images of aircraft taking off.
I have tried hard not to "freeze" the propellars.

CD, great pics colourful as most planes are. I like the Gee Bee but yeh all nice and good to see these shows and well good to see the props not frozed, well done.

You've done well with these and by the sounds of it had a great time too. While all are very good, #1 is just a nose (or is that propeller  ) in front as, for me, the clear sky bakground is less distracting.

Actually one source (a pilot ) tells me that they rather have background and other stuff in the image. (why ? , I'm not really sure ...)
She says that pilots tend to think that sky as background is boring.

Hi Ady,
I had a 70-200mm f/2.8 VR; at times with a TC17EII.
Now I guess given the amount of light available, a 70-300mm Nikon, Sigma, Quanteray etc could have produced some nice shots.
However the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR is the top of the line.

Thanks for your replies,
I lost the EXIFs because of Photoshop CS2 (should use something else to convert to jpeg).
However the question about shutter speed is answered as follows:
1st shot: 1/160
2nd shot: 1/320
3rd shot: 1/160
4th shot: 1/250
