John,
The first of these is great, especially thew way that we can see the rider's face. Most unusual for this type of shot, and that's what, for me, makes it a standout. In the thrid one, it's a shame he's wearing his helmet. It would have been great had he removed it, and placed it, for instance, on his lap, thus letting us see who he is. ![]() ![]() g.

John, #1 is exceptional. Love the eyes, the determined expression and all the detail on the bike and rider.

Great shots. #1, is it a crop? I would like to see his knee/slider in the frame to get a better idea of the lean angle. Craig Craig

Just on the shutter speed what would you use for panning shots or 3/4 view with say a 300mm lens.We all try to get wheel blur and in my case my number of keepers is sometimes low. When you look at some of the so called pro shots, there is no wheel blur but the subject is tack sharp and obviously a high shutter speed has been used. What are your thoughts Jeff
John
This is a genre you own and that first shot shows just how talented you are at these. As has already been said - tack sharp and the visible face make this one a cracker image. Not a big fan of the last one. Peter

Jeff, i tend not to go over 1/400 at the most i would use 1/500 but pending on where i am but panning 1/400 is ok for me even if i am using 600m i like to use that shutter speed. If they are dead at you head on use as high as you want because it does not matter as you dont see the wheels a lot anyhow.
