Tried a little experiment. Took two shots of the SC29 with the Sigma 105mm macro with slightly different focussing points. Combined in PS. Not a great photo just an experiment.

Has kind of created a nice sense of depth. Could be something in this....keep pushing it.

I like the photo.
The Sigma lens seems to be a fine one.
What was the distance between the front of the lens and the object ?
I'm also quite curious to understand the pp you did using two photos with different focus point.

Distance would have been about 2 inches.

In one shot I focussed on the top of the SC29 and the other more on the front coil of the cable.

Opened the SC29 focus shot in PS and then opened the coiled focus of the SC29. Did a command A with the marque tool on the coiled focus photo and then command C to copy. On the SC29 focus photo I formed a new layer and in the new layer I did command V to paste the coiled focus photo over the top of the SC29 focus. I then used the brush eraser to remove the top of the SC29 from the coiled focus shot thereby revealing the sharper top underneath and then flattened the whole thing

I hope that makes sense - it’s late and I have come down with the flu this evening.
