This little fella kept his eye on me the whole time I was testing out my new Kenko extension tubes!

C&C welcome..

He was quite a big bugger; about 5.5 inches long!

What an amazing critter... and great shots.

I wonder what he was thinking? Maybe the clicking sound was a turnon for him

Cheers Timbo!

The way he sat still for so long was very eerie, only moving his head to follow my lens around!

I reckon there are only two things going trough it's mind.
Can I eat it?
and
Can it eat me?

Nice shots by the way.

Cheers guys..

I've heard the female beheads the male after the horizontal mambo! Or is it the other way around?! I'm sure Rel will know!

Great shots! The second one looks slightly better to me.

How did you get the neutral background?

What lighting setup?

Cheers..

The neutral background is a piece of card (white on one side and grey the other) that I keep in my boot for impromptu product shoots etc.

The lighting is 2 SB800's with the diffusers attached. Shot using CLS in Manual mode with the key light on my left just in front of the talent(!) and the second slightly behind to fill and give the 2nd catchlight in his left eye.

I've had to do a bit of Curve work (in ACR) to really bring out his colour because they have quite a reflective texture which literally bounces the white strobe light.

Great capture,

I have photographed these little critters too and they always look like that.
