Bought a couple new lenses on the weekend. 50mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.8

http://photos.yahoo.com/neeper78

1579, 1581, 1531 were done with 85mm

Ducks were shot with my 70-300 Tamron
Puppies were with kit lens
1560 was shot with the 50mm
1461 with 10.5mm fisheye

Ok be nice, cause I am a newb.

Nice shots. I especially like the B & W one of the dog (shayneherc) - difficult to shoot with such extreme contrast and you've nailed it. Great work.

The wedding silhouette against the skyline (DSC_0908) is a good shot, but the highlight looks a little blown (something I, too have a problem with  ). This is a tough one to get right.

DSC_0932 - really good capture - the facial expressions are great and the PP works very well.

Cheers (and I'm glad I'm not there with all that snow)

Great shots Neeper, for a supposedly "newb". ;)

You've done great with your new acquisitions.

Hercules is charming. And the ducks... well, it wouldn't be a shoot without duck pics. :D

Thanks Stubbsy. The shayneherc picture was a pure fluke. I just happened to see my dog sunbathing on my cousin. I took the shot without much thought. The only PP I did was changing it to b&w.

Hi Neeper

1461 - better focus with different background would have made for a better shot IMO

1560 - an inovative shot that works for me

I love your puppy shots coz I love dogs - you can almost hear them saying ”Mum, why were we born into this cold stuff - why couldn’t we be born in Australia?” The black and white pic is excellent IMO.

1531 - would that be you Neeper?

Keep em comin’

Chris

Nope that's my friend Chris. I am shooting his wedding next summer in July. Hopefully I am better by then.

If you want to find me, check out T&S Wedding. In shot 0907, I am the short bald dude on the far left side.

The fisheye shot was taken at the camera store. I didn't actually buy the lens. I was having fun taking shots, before they made me give it back.

I love 1461.

It makes a great avatar, as you have done. Very nice!!!

1560 is a very nice setup shot too. Great idea, but might have looked even better with a green card table instead of the wooden one, but that's just being picky.

And the Shayneherc pic is excellent. Very candid and full of life.
