Nice shots, my fav is the second one. I like the bright halo behind the bird's head!

The 1.4x telecnverter really does the trick with such a nice lens ... i like number 2 as well.

I really like the 1st one - a question - any USM on these as the second shot seems overley sharp?

Hi Chris,
Yes, USM applied to all. 2nd one does have higher USM as there was some blurr due to camera shake.
All shots were handheld. The 1st one is the infant. The 2nd is one of the parent - very protective and shy. Did not have time to recompose as they flew off very quickly. If you had noticed, some branches and leaves were in the way. Did not like the strong backlight as it reduced the details on the birds and resulting in distracting overexposed areas.

G'day,
Excellent shots, favorite is #2... Great sharp images... Especially if you had to be quick... I'd be very happy to catch those...
Cheers,
Mudder

Awesome captures - your bokeh seems so much nicer than mine! My 80-200 has borked bokeh!

Top shots of the birdies, i dont seem to have much luck at times, it's the ferals that tag along seem to be able to make enough noise to scare them off.
LOL
Thanks
